Project Description

Amongst the first of the homes built by wealthy landowner and property developer Thomas Courtenay Warner to house selected working class tenants from the 1880s. This part – the Clock House Estate – was the first phase of development, followed later by Leyton and Winns Estates. By the 1920s Warner had some 6000 tenants. Most of the housing is now sold privately.
